Governors Ball 2025 Recap: A Rain-Soaked, Star-Packed Weekend in NYC

Words & Photography By: Toby Shapiro

From June 6-8, Flushing Meadow Corona Park was filled with nearly 150,00 people for the 2025 Governors Ball music festival. Since its launch in 2011, the festival has grown over the past 15  years into one of New York’s most anticipated summer events attracting global talent and fans alike. This year’s three-day festival brought together over 60 artists, brand activations, tons of great food, and nonstop music that filled the park all weekend long. Check out Toby's highlights below:

Friday was filled with incredible energy and amazing performances. Benson Boone, Mkgee, Role Model, and Maqunie Pussy, among many others, put so much energy and care into their amazing sets. Tyler the Creator closed out the night with a fanatic performance with songs from his newest album Chromakopia and fan favorites from past albums. There were so many amazing performances I found myself constantly running from stage to stage trying to take in as much as I could.

Saturday had a bit of a rocky start as it was delayed until 4:30 because of the weather, but once the gates were open the rain didn’t stop artists and fans alike from seeing some amazing sets. Wallows, The Lemon Twigs, MARIA, Conan Gray, and Olivia Rodrigo kept the momentum of the night going strong. The rain started coming down during the Wallows set making it a unique and unforgettable performance.

Sunday was back to a full day of festivities and wrapped up the weekend on such a high note. With performances from Clairo, Glass Animals, Hozier, and so many more.

Gov Ball 2025, once again proved itself to be an unforgettable weekend. Whether you just came for a headliner or left the festival with a new favorite artist, the packed weekend held so much excitement and brought so many memories.
