10 Years Later, Chance The Rapper Brings "Coloring Book" Back to Minneapolis
Written by: Precious Drew I knew I was in for a good night when I walked into The Armory and saw just how packed it was. Chance The Rapper brought his Coloring Book 10-year anniversary tour to Minneapolis on Tuesday, October 6, with New Orleans native, La Reezy, opening the show. Released in May 2016, Coloring Book was a defining moment in Chance’s career. The mixtape blended gospel, hip-hop and soulful live instrumentation in a way that felt different from what was happening

Nappy Roots and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Bring Hip-Hop Nostalgia to Legacy Cup MN
Written by: Precious Drew There are certain songs that immediately take you back to a specific time in your life. For me, Nappy Roots’ “Good Day” is one of them. I graduated high school in 2014, long after Nappy Roots’ early-2000s commercial peak, but you wouldn’t have known it from my playlists. All Things Go started as a blog in 2006, eventually making its way into the festival space in 2

Pier 80 | San Francisco, CA Photos By: Toby Shapiro | Instagram Portola Festival returned to San Francisco for its fifth year. This festival really had something for every music lover. From DJs to pop music to everywhere in between, I got to check out some amazing sets. The festival drew in over 40,000 people each day to San Francisco’s Pier 80. This was my first time attending Portola, and I found it to feel unique and special. It didn’t just feel like another music festival

Scene Queen Gets Metalicious in Lawrence, Kansas
Written by: Ann Wallsmith What better way is there to start a concert set than singing about chipping your nails because you beat up on a man? For Scene Queen, it’s the only way to start a set. Scene Queen performed at The Granada in Lawrence, KS to a high energy crowd as part of her Metalicious Tour, named after the title of her newest EP released earlier this month. (It was specifically released on 9/11, a decision by Scene Queen’s label that led to many jokes of a questio
