With influences that spread from Ella Fitzgerald, Donny Hathaway and Gregory Porter to Beyoncé, Lianne La Havas and Jazmine Sullivan, Amethyst’s sound encompasses modern R&B production, old school soul instrumentation all tied together with a luscious and soothing soulful jazz vocal.
Amethyst was lucky enough to have the opportunity to be mentored by Joy Crookes, has received backing from the MOBO Help Musicians funding and more recently PRS Open fund, as well as being longlisted for Glastonbury's Emerging Talent Competition. With sold out headline shows at The Grace, The Victoria and Paper Dress Vintage, support slots for artist Charles, Nia Chennai, Georgia Cecile, Loie and Saint Joshua as well as performances at Ronnie Scott’s, Hootananny and The Alternative Escape, Amethyst is certainly one to watch.
