Since 2019, Jessy has released eight singles, with her most recently released track, Any Minute. If you're a fan of artists like Phoebe Bridgers, Gracie Abrams or Olivia Rodrigo, Jessy's music is definitely worth checking out on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Soundcloud where you might find a one or two songs you may not find on the other platforms like BOYS and Come & Go.

Let’s dive into this new single. Any Minute was released at midnight (EST) on Friday, December 6th, this track adds a fresh burst of energy to her signature, passionate style. As a stunning blend of acoustic-pop like a few other songs of her discography, Any Minute offers a glimpse of what makes Jessy one of the most promising voices in indie pop and folk-inspired today, but Any Minute hints at something new, both in sound and sentiment.

Any Minute is an acoustic-pop sound that has such a strong and beautiful melody. If I had to tell you what this song feels like, I would describe it as a breath of fresh air as the wind is blowing through your entire body–imagine you’re running up to the top of a hill and standing in the middle of an open field when all of the sudden a powerful gust of wind passes through your body blowing through your hair, it almost feels as if you’re floating–or a like a moment where you’ve just come up for air. It feels very airy and the musicality gives off a sense of liberation. That’s what this song feels like to me leading up to the chorus. It’s like an emotional build-up.

The lyrics have a pretty smooth flow to them–very poetic. Jessy is such an expressive songwriter, I think that’s what I love about her music. It’s so raw and emotional. I feel like the lyrics fit the musicality of this song well. My favorite lyric, or lyrics I should say would have to be in the chorus: ‘Any minute, any second with you. Tunnel Vision seems so foreign to you. Any minute. We got everythin’ to lose, but I’d take any minute over losing you’, the second verse going into the pre-chorus: ‘

Sundays, your house. Watchin’ movies on my old couch that I gave you when you helped me move out. That I gave you when you helped me move out. I think we're way past thirteen months now, and you're runnin' around in my head til I'm seasick. When you let me down, I don't let myself see it’. I love lyrics that tell a story without needing to explain in detail. 

My personal interpretation of this song is that it expresses the intense and conflicting emotions of being deeply attached to someone despite challenges in a relationship. The lyrics reflect her feelings and thoughts about a partner. No matter what the circumstances, she wants to savor every moment–valuing the time she has, any minute and any second. It conveys the sense of longing and vulnerability.

It features a calming, yet expansive landscape, with the clear, open sky that looks like the day is just entering into the golden hour.
