This month's release round up is arriving a little late, however this has nothing to do with the calibre of releases this month, only my inability to write whilst also at a destination wedding.

Getting stuck straight in with “O My Beloved” by Kings of Leon arriving on 6th November. Their 10th studio album and the first to be entirely produced by the band themselves, it’s showing to be a change of direction from their previously released music. Lead singer Caleb Followill has been quoted saying “wouldn’t it be beautiful to make an album that is looking back on all of the things that we’ve done and appreciating how we got here”. The three songs currently released definitely show that, being more stripped back and acoustic compared to some of their biggest hits like “Use Somebody” and “Sex on Fire”. I’m imagining settling in to listen to the whole album on a cosy autumn evening with a hot drink and crackling fire (on my TV though because as a girl in her twenties who is renting I do not yet have access to a real fireplace).

Changing the vibe significantly we have another album also dropping on 6th November but

this time by UK rap and grime artist Skepta. The Fork and Knife is his 6th studio album of which he started teasing by performing upcoming songs at Reading Festival in August. Promising a multitude of other top featured artists including Central Cee, Jorja Smith and Novelist to name a few, I hope it's shaping up to rival his chart topping 2016 album (and one of my favourites EVER) “Konnichiwa”.

Last up is one of my favourites in the electronic music scene at the moment DJ HEARTSTRING and their 1st studio album “Sentimental Ultra”. Arriving on 13th November the Berlin-originating duo have already released seven tracks from the fifteen strong song album including the namesake single which I think I have single-handedly been responsible for 50% of the streams so far (mild exaggeration). “Supersonic Pleasure” and “Another Year Alone (i love you)” featuring lyrics from “7” by Catfish and the Bottlemen, have also been firmly on my most recently listened to. Having seen the duo at Magazine in London in February this year and the crowd they drew, I think it’s fairly safe to say that they are going nowhere and I can’t wait to hopefully see them again back in London in January.
